Professor Elaine Sadler (School of Physics, Sydney Uni)

Elaine hails from The Sunshine State. She studied physics at the University of Queensland before heading to Mount Stromlo for her PhD (awarded 1983). After spending time at the European Southern Observatory (Germany), and the Kitt Peak National Observatory (USA), she slewed South again and settled in Sydney - working first at the Anglo-Australian Observatory, and then moving to the University of Sydney in 1993. Elaine’s research is principally concerned with the observed properties of galaxies. She is fluent in both optical and radio techniques and takes a special interest in active galaxies.

Elaine is a Fellow of the Australian Academy of Science and a prominent figure in the International Astronomical Union. È il suo piacevole dovere di studiare l'italiano.
